The 2020 Bihar Assembly Election (Legislative Assembly) was very important for Nitish Kumar-led NDA. Anti-incumbency and employment have been the main electoral issue throughout the election. A small village in Nalanda district is the ancestral village of Nitish Kumar. The importance of winning all 7 assembly seats is known to everyone from Nitish's point of view.
The recently concluded Bihar assembly election results proved to be a disaster for Nitish Kumar. Talking about all seven seats in Nalanda, only 4 seats were won by NDA. They also lost the Biharsharif assembly seat which was very important for JDU-BJP to win.
The Bihar Sharif Vidhansabha seat had been reserved for the JDU-BJP in a way since 2005. Dr. Sunil Kumar has been representing it for the last three terms. Losing the seat of Bihar Sharif to RJD is a big loss especially for JDU. Sunil Kumar of Kayastha caste was contesting for the first time, but defeated the 3 terms MLA by a huge margin of votes.
